Take one honest photo every waking hour. Recently I was inspired by a fellow documentary photographer, Sannetta Marsh to do an hour-by-hour project. I have already been photographing a self-portrait every week to document our pregnancy and thought this might be a fun way to document what a day for us looks like. I was a bit concerned that I wouldn’t have enough interesting content to capture as my days have become slower as we quickly approach the end of this pregnancy.
I was excited for the challenge and hoped that at the very least it would get me better prepared for capturing our little girl when she is born. I have always been a big believe in picking up your camera every single day to keep your skills sharp.
This challenge forced me to focus on the little things and reminded me how important they really are. It caused me to think deeper about my life and how these moments move by so quickly. As you have probably have heard, the days are long but the years fly by quickly. My husband Steven even got involved and took some photos as well. Even though we were out in the field working, bringing the camera along made me realize how much fun we have no matter what we are up to. I can't wait to share that with our little girl.
So here we are, just a normal day in March. I could focus on all the projects that still need to happen with our home like the 70’s flooring ect. but then I would be missing what’s really important. I wasn’t just capturing how our lives look in this moment, I was also capturing how it feels.
I would love for you to let me capture what a DAY-IN-THE-LIFE looks and feels like for you. Contact me today to start planning your session!
